Organisation Tips - Travel
- Toiletries – if you travel a lot get a vanity case and fill it with duplicates of all the stuff you use when at home and miniature bottles of things like shampoo and conditioner – that way you can just grab the case and go and just put it away when you get back and don’t have to pack and unpack all your toiletries every time.
- Laundry – pack several plastic shopping bags to store dirty clothes, shoes, etc. in.
- Holiday checklist – create a holiday/travel packing checklist and laminate it of items you need to take for a weekend or for a week/two weeks to check off when packing.
- Camping checklist – if you go camping a lot also create a camping checklist (and laminate it) of items you take camping to check off when packing and laminate this also. In addition, remove as packaging from food items as you can before you go – this makes it easier when it comes time to cook/eat and saves on the amount of rubbish you need to dispose of, especially if there are no bins provided.
- Brochures – keep brochures on places you have visited/stayed and info on tourist attractions etc. and keep them in a plastic wallet and put in a magazine holder or box so you can refer to it later if you want to go back or someone you know is interested in going. Better yet, scan them into your computer so you don't take up space.
- Visitors – if you have interstate/overseas visitors, collect brochures on local tourist attractions in a magazine holder/box ready for them when they come.
